Small Pet Select was born in the USA in 2012 when Laurie Gordon’s guinea pig, Lizzie, refused to eat store-bought hay. Laurie tried every brand she could find, but Lizzie turned her nose up at all of them. Worried about Lizzie’s health, Laurie was at a loss.

Laurie’s son Billy, living in hay-rich Ellensburg, WA, brought fresh local hay home for Lizzie, and she loved it. Recognizing a broader need, Billy began sharing samples with other pet owners. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with both pets and their owners thrilled by the quality.

By 2018, Small Pet Select had grown into a trusted name in high-quality pet supplies. Word spread internationally, and we began receiving countless pleas from UK pet parents eager to try our hay.

Driven by their enthusiasm, we took a leap, hopped on a plane and opened a warehouse near Edinburgh, Scotland in November 2018. It was a proud milestone—we could finally share our hay with the United Kingdom!
